THE SCIENCE

Scientific research in biophotonics reveals that the wavelengths of light transmitted through VioPak™ are important for communication between living cells.

Evaluating the Impact of VioPak™ Film on the Shelf Life and Quality of Chives

Abstract

A study done using VioPak™ LDPE of various weights was conducted to measure the preservation and physical quality of chives under natural lighting conditions. This study assesses the film's efficacy in reducing weight loss and maintaining the physical integrity of chives.

Introduction

VioPak™ film represents an innovation to help prolong freshness, using techniques like microlenses to manipulate light, thereby potentially modifying the microenvironment within the package. 

The Results

The VioPak™ film, particularly at higher concentrations and thicknesses, significantly reduces the weight loss of chives, indicating enhanced preservation capabilities. This study underscores the film's potential in extending the shelf life and improving the quality of perishable foods.
